Saint Stephen Catholic ChurchSaint Stephen Catholic Church is the focal point of the City of St. Stephen. The Slovenian-American peoples who settled here were devout Catholics who brought the faith with them and kept it with them to this day. Saint Stephen Catholic Church was established in 1871, and is one of the Oldest Parishes in the Diocese of Saint Cloud.

Father Francis Xavier PierzThis Priest was a Slovenian Missionary who earned the name: "The Father of Central Minnesota." He is credited for bringing German, Polish, and Slovenian Catholics to the area which still consists of German-America, Polish-American, and of course, Slovenian-American Catholics. He is buried in St. Christopher's Cemetery in Ljublijana, Slovenia.
